Orbisk Hiring Team

Vacancy

As a Data and AI Engineer at Orbisk, you are responsible for streamlining both internal and external data flows that power the AI and Data infrastructures. In this pivotal role, you are part of the AI and Data team and collaborate closely with the Developers team to deploy new data pipelines. This accelerates the pace of AI and Data development and eases the burden on Developers when rolling out these infrastructures. In addition, you'll consult with customers and Sales Managers to tailor data solutions to individual client needs.

In your role, you'll engage in a variety of tasks aimed at both technical development and client interaction. On the technical side, you'll be deeply involved in code creation and review, utilizing languages like Python, SQL, and Terraform. Additionally, you'll participate in technical and project sync meetings to ensure alignment across teams. On the business end, you'll liaise with Customer Success and Sales Managers to decode complex data needs of various clients, ensuring that our solutions are precisely tailored to meet individual requirements.

You'll be part of a tightly-knit AI and Data team, comprising of: four Data and AI Engineers, one Manager, one Working Student and several interns.

If you enjoy working with data and managing the pipelines/deployment and you find it challenging to adapt new features into the current infrastructures, then this is the job for you.

Firsthand experience

You are tasked with deploying a new AI data pipeline into the production environment. What do you do?

First, you'll start by understanding the data requirements that the new AI pipeline necessitates. At Orbisk, the goal is always to create solutions with the least disruption to existing systems, so you'll figure out how to add new functionalities while minimizing changes to the existing data infrastructure. After mapping out the requirements and changes, you'll proceed to test them in the development environment to ensure all elements are working seamlessly.

Once the preliminary testing is successful, you'll move onto the staging environment for a more rigorous assessment. Communication is key here; you'll need to liaise closely with the developers team to keep them in the loop. After verifying that everything is stable and optimized in the staging environment, you'll deploy the pipeline into the production environment. This thorough, step-by-step process ensures that the AI data pipelines are robust, efficient, and smoothly integrated into the existing architecture.

Growth

At Orbisk, there are various opportunities for growth as an employee. Several courses are offered, allowing you to develop yourself optimally. Since Orbisk is a start-up, you also learn a lot easily from colleagues with various specialisations. In the coming years, the organisation will also focus on international growth, which means more and more new positions will become available.

Data and AI Engineer

Working at Orbisk

Orbisk is a start-up with a clear mission: to make the global food system more sustainable. The start-up provides complete insights into the food flows of hospitality organizations. Orbisk does this by offering a smart camera and scale that uses image recognition to register which food is thrown away, when, and in what quantity. The customer can view this data in the dashboard, which provides insight into food wastage and can be used to reduce it.
