Vacancy
The Senior Data Architect (Data Management) at Mizuho is responsible for maintaining and improving the local data warehouse. You will define how the data should be stored, processed, accessed and managed. The role also covers the day-to-day maintenance and issue resolution of the ETL jobs already present within the IT domains, as well as maintaining all databases within that same domain. A practical mentality is required, as you will have the chance to implement some of these features yourself.
In this role, you will not only maintain the current data warehouse but also propose optimisation of the design. The local data warehouse has been established for a few years and there is plenty of room for improvement. Additionally, you will be responsible for the design and development of the new ETLs and maintaining existing ETL's.
Managing SQL server databases, including configuration, maintenance, monitoring system health and performance tuning, is also part of your responsibilities. Furthermore, you support scheduled maintenance and release deployment during or after working hours and design and implement data modelling solutions using relational and dimensional databases.
The IT department formally consists of three interconnected teams: Data Management, Infrastructure and Development. This role falls within the Data Management team consisting of five people with a diverse set of skills and responsibilities. On a day-to-day basis, you will report to the Data Management Team Lead, with a formal line to the IT Department Head.
If you enjoy defining optimal methods for data storage, processing, and access, relish the challenge of designing complex ETL processes, and are adept at maintaining SQL server databases, then this is the job for you.
Working week
On an enjoyable day, you have made improvements to the data warehouse to service internal customers. This helps you to further optimize the data processes in the company.
On a less enjoyable day, you dive into broken data pipelines and resolve the issue as soon as possible.
