Vacancy

Acquisition based on this advertisement is not appreciated. We usually fill the vacancies ourselves and in exceptional cases we work with preferred suppliers.

As a Senior Service Engineer at EuroSort you are responsible for providing service and support to customers to achieve optimal customer satisfaction. You advise clients on follow-up procedures, repairs or inspections and also carry out the agreed service work on location.

Before visiting the customer, you review the previous visit’s report. What was solved then and which parts need extra attention? You also estimate which parts are needed and how much time the work will take. Based on all these factors, you draw up a recommendation report and a quotation. The Technical Specialist checks whether the parts and numbers are correct before you send the report to the customer.

For customers with a service contract, you visit them regularly for periodic maintenance or for an inspection. You coordinate the work on site and help out yourself as well. The duration of a work visit depends on the customer and the contract, but usually you are busy for two days. EuroSort has many international clients, so you will be abroad regularly.

You are part of the Service & Support team, which consists of a Manager, three Back Office employees, a Technical Specialist, a Planner and five Service Engineers. You have a lot of contact with the Planner and Technical Specialist to ensure that all activities continue to run according to plan.

If you like having a lot of freedom in your work and find it challenging to deal with feedback from customers and colleagues, then this is a job for you.

Working week

Senior Service Engineer

On an enjoyable day you travel abroad for a job. The work goes smoothly and in the evening you eat in a good restaurant.

On a less enjoyable working day, something is not right in the drawings. As a result, the work takes longer and you have to consult with colleagues in the office before you can continue.

Firsthand experience

A customer has a problem with the sorting machine and contacts us. How do you help this customer?

The machine isn’t sorting properly any more and stops for no reason. You try to analyse as clearly as possible on the phone what exactly is going on. When did the machine malfunction? Is perhaps a product stuck? Then, based on your own knowledge, you decide whether the problem is electrical or mechanical. You then call the customer's technical service department to help them think things through. If the technical service cannot solve the problem, you consider going there. You check if there is a Service Engineer available who can go there at short notice, and which parts are needed to fix the problem.

Sjoerd van Schie - Mechanical Installation Coordinator

Why did you decide to work for this company?
I already worked freelance for this company as an installation supervisor and was asked to do the coordination. It is a young dynamic company that is active worldwide: as a mechanic this gave me the opportunity to travel while working. In this way I gained some nice experiences and now I supervise the installations.

What was your previous job?
Freelance mechanic/assembly supervisor, elevator mechanic and animal caretaker.

What do you do in your spare time?
Fishing.

Wiebe de Jong - Manager TECH

Why did you decide to work for this company?
I started as an intern (Engineer) when the company only had a few employees (almost nineteen years ago). The type of company has always given me opportunities to develop and grow in the organization. It has never been boring as the company and product continues to evolve. The company is always open to new ideas.

What did you study?
Mechanical engineering.

What do you do in your spare time?
Hockey, Formula 1, enjoy drinks on a terrace and play sports.

Andre Meulman - PLC Software Engineer, Control department

Why did you decide to work for this company?
With a predilection for technology, I have always been looking for a working environment in which I have to deal with multiple techniques. At EuroSort, various systems come together in the control of the sorting installations. From controlling various sensors, actuators, motors and servo drives, to communication between different systems, such as servers, HMI and cameras.

What was your previous job?
PLC Software Engineer IA.

What do you do in your spare time?
In my spare time I enjoy doing water sports or hiking.

Marco Vonk - Purchaser

Why did you decide to work for this company?
I started in 2011 as an Engineer at EuroSort. In addition, I did project-related purchases. Due to the dynamic growth of EuroSort, I have gradually started to concentrate and professionalize myself more in the field of purchasing. Partly because the organization feels great, from which we get satisfaction together, this is a huge stimulus to develop myself further and to keep the enthusiasm high. This is an advantage of EuroSort for me!
