Vacancy
As a Bartender/Barista LuminAir at DoubleTree by Hilton Amsterdam Centraal Station you are responsible for running the bar in LuminAir. You prepare the drinks for the guests, such as different types of coffee and cocktails. You ensure that the products are always fresh and you keep the refrigerators and shelves well stocked. You also keep the bar clean and tidy.
Making cocktails is a key aspect of the role, taking into account the wishes of guests. For example, if you do not have a certain liqueur and guests want a cocktail with a specific taste, you improvise. You work alternately during the day or take on the evening shift. The day shift starts at 10 AM and ends at 6:30 PM and the evening shift lasts from 5 PM to approximately 1 AM. During the day shift you open the bar and at the start of your shift you are responsible for cutting the fresh fruit and vegetables. During the evening shift you are responsible for closing the bar at the end of the evening and making sure everything is ready for the next day. You clean the coffee machines and the bar and throw away products that are no longer fresh.
You are part of the LuminAir team, which consists of LuminAir Employees, Floor Supervisors and Bar Supervisors. The team is managed by the LuminAir Manager and the Assistant Managers.
If you enjoy sharing your knowledge and expertise of beverages with guests, and find a challenge in working various different orders at the same time while enjoying the best view in town, then this is the job for you.
Working week
On a nice day it is very busy because of the nice weather. The terrace is open and fully seated, so there is plenty to do and there is a great atmosphere all around.
On a day when not everything is runs smoothly, you have to disappoint guests several times, since you don't have a certain type of drink in stock. Then you have to be creative and serve other cocktails.
