Vacancy
As the Test Engineer at Blue Heart Energy, you will be responsible for carrying out work in both the pre-lab and the pressure lab. In the pre-lab, preparations are made for the prototypes and in the pressure lab the prototypes are pressure tested. You execute testing activities and ensure that these are correctly executed. You make sure you follow the safety rules in the labs. This is important because testing is done under high pressure. In addition, you will also assemble and disassemble prototypes. In collaboration with the Mechatronics Engineer, you carry out “functional tests” on the prototypes and test new parts.
You will also carry out “assembly tests” for different components of the machine. Ultimately, you pre-analyze the test data and prepare the documentation for our R&D department. You are part of the Electronics, Software, Controls and Testing team (ESC-T), which consists of three Test Engineers in addition to you, three Software Engineers, one Controls Engineer, two Mechanical Engineers and one Mechatronics Engineer. The team is managed by the ESC-T Manager, who is also your supervisor. You also work in a multifunctional agile team on various projects within Blue Heart Energy.
If you enjoy working with your hands, running tests, analyze test data and find it challenging to do so within an organization where there is a lot of change, then this is a job for you.
Working week
On an enjoyable workday, you assemble the prototype, complete your tests and analyze the produced test data with success. You end the day with a nice drink with colleagues.
On a less enjoyable day, a lot of unexpected work comes your way, forcing you to postpone certain tests to another time. This makes you feel less content.

BlueHeart Energy was founded in 2016 to apply thermoacoustics as a technology in heat pumps. Thermoacoustics is a disruptive approach to generate heat and cold, with potential to revolutionize the whole industry. Over the past seven years, BHE has developed a thermoacoustic engine to power heat pumps in residential buildings. This so called 'Blue Heart' of a heat pump is sold to manufacturers. In the coming years, the 'Blue Heart' will have to be further developed and optimized. Besides this, we will set up our production facility, strengthen the relationships with our customers (Manufacturers of heat pumps) and set up pilot projects in houses and monitor these.
