As a Senior Design Engineer at BlueHeart Energy, you are responsible for overseeing the complete design and realization process of components and test setups for the innovative thermo-acoustic heat pump. From the initial concepts and prototypes to the final production, you ensure that each project runs smoothly and aligns with strategic goals. You develop and maintain a clear roadmap for the components and coordinate it with involved stakeholders, including system owners and other engineering teams. Through your technical leadership, you ensure that designs not only meet requirements but also perform excellently in practice. You keep a sharp eye on the quality of the work and documents, initiate necessary documentation, and write it where needed. Additionally, you ensure the team makes timely decisions to ensure progress and results are maintained. You maintain close contact with project managers and suppliers to ensure that all parts are available on time and meet the highest quality standards.
In this role, you collaborate closely with designers and specialists to perform advanced technical analyses, such as mechanical simulations (FEA) and fluid dynamics analysis (CFD). You coordinate test and validation processes to ensure performance and reliability, making sure the components integrate seamlessly into the broader system. Furthermore, you lead the collaboration between internal teams and external partners to bring contributions together into a cohesive design. You also manage project timelines, create work packages, and track key milestones for both internal and external contributors. With your focus and decisiveness, you monitor progress, ensure quality, and ensure that deadlines are met.
You are part of the Engineering Team at BlueHeart Energy, a team of product designers, FEM analysts, and project engineers. Together, you work on innovative solutions that contribute to the energy transition.
If you enjoy organizing work, coordinating with colleagues, and find it challenging to stay on track under time pressure while managing multiple tasks in the background, then this is the job for you.
Working week
On an enjoyable workday, you have delivered the project document and coordinated everything with your colleagues. Additionally, you have verified with the suppliers that the project is still on track.
On a less enjoyable workday, you are dealing with an unexpected issue that requires immediate attention, but you haven’t been able to resolve it completely.

Working at BlueHeart Energy
BlueHeart Energy was founded in 2016 to apply thermoacoustics as a technology in heat pumps. Thermoacoustics is a disruptive approach to generate heat and cold, with potential to revolutionize the whole industry. Over the past seven years, BHE has developed a thermoacoustic engine to power heat pumps in residential buildings. This so called 'Blue Heart' of a heat pump is sold to manufacturers. In the coming years, the 'Blue Heart' will have to be further developed and optimized. Besides this, we will set up our production facility, strengthen the relationships with our customers (Manufacturers of heat pumps) and set up pilot projects in houses and monitor these.
