Vacancy
As an Electromechanical Technician at BlueHeart Energy, you are responsible for building test controls setups and being the troubleshooter for these systems, playing a key role in getting them ready for detailed testing and evaluation by the Engineering team. Your job involves careful and precise work, as you build the control boxes, connect sensors, and provide design input in collaboration with the Research & Development department and the Mechatronics Engineer.
In addition to working with test control setups, you will also be involved in assembling prototypes and ensuring that the test system (including the prototype) meets the required test specifications. Although you won't be directly conducting the tests, your role in preparing and fine-tuning the equipment is vital in facilitating accurate and effective validation.
Furthermore, you will play a key part in troubleshooting any issues that may arise during the preparation phase and maintaining thorough documentation of all processes and outcomes. This documentation provides valuable insights for the ongoing development of the heat pump technology. Additionally, you will contribute to researching new technologies in sensors and test controls, which adds an innovative aspect to your role.
You are part of the Electronics Software and Controls team (ESC team). In addition to you, this team consists of an ESC Manager, two Software Development Engineers, Mechatronics Engineer and a Motor control Engineer. In this role, you report to the ESC Manager. You will also work in a multifunctional Agile team on various projects within BlueHeart Energy.
If you enjoy being technically involved in building test controls setups and troubleshooting them, and find it challenging to do so within an organisation where there is a lot of change, then this is a job for you.
Working week
On an enjoyable day, you have the opportunity to delve into a technical challenge that arose earlier in the week, focusing on practical problem-solving.
On a less enjoyable day, it feels like everything is happening all at once. You're dealing with a prototype issue, a rush to test new parts, and the ongoing challenge of calibrating new sensors, making it a hectic and challenging workday.

Working at BlueHeart Energy
BlueHeart Energy was founded in 2016 to apply thermoacoustics as a technology in heat pumps. Thermoacoustics is a disruptive approach to generate heat and cold, with potential to revolutionize the whole industry. Over the past seven years, BHE has developed a thermoacoustic engine to power heat pumps in residential buildings. This so called 'Blue Heart' of a heat pump is sold to manufacturers. In the coming years, the 'Blue Heart' will have to be further developed and optimized. Besides this, we will set up our production facility, strengthen the relationships with our customers (Manufacturers of heat pumps) and set up pilot projects in houses and monitor these.
